Compass Minerals IX Plant Expansion

Scope of work included civil earthworks, demolition, structural steel, pressure welded pipe installation, HDPE pipe fusion, concrete foundations, pump installation, and commissioning. This project was completed on time and budget for March Consulting.

Solar Project

Points Athabasca installed two medium sized photovoltaic systems at two schools located on First Nations at Hatchet lake and Fond-du-Lac in Northern Saskatchewan. This was a design build installation of a turnkey 64 kW AC solar photvoltaic roof mounted system with a net metering configuration that was integrated into the existing electrical system at the schools.

Cigar Lake Piping

Scope of work included installation of new compressors and associated piping, pump foundations, tank replacement and pump installations. Work was completed on surface and underground.

McClean Lake Concrete

Points Athabasca produced over 2,000 m3 of construction grade concrete from its mobile batch plant and 3 trucks to support the JEB mill upgrade at McClean Lake. Scope of work also included site services for worker transportation, janitorial and craft labour support.

SaskPower QE Site Services

Since September 2014, Points Athabasca has been supporting the Construction Team at the QE power station in Saskatoon. Scope of work has included demolition, concrete foundation installation, snow clearing, road grading, loading and unloading heavy equipment and building construction.

Cigar Lake East Freeze Pad Clearing

Scope of work included clearing and grubbing for freeze pad expansion and utility corridor using a fleet of excavators and articulated rock trucks. The project was completed ahead of schedule and received an excellent rating from Cameco’s Construction Management Team.

Saskwater CN Crossing

Scope of work included the trenchless installation of a 20” smooth wall steel pipe under CN railway at the Highway 7 overpass West of Saskatoon, and the installation of a 12” HDPE fused pipe and associated valves to replace an old PVC installation. An American Augers 36-600 auger boring machine was used to install the steel pipe.

Highway 11 Rubberized Asphalt Crack Sealing

Scope of work included completion of routing, cleaning and filling of approximately 70,000 metres of cracks along various sections of Highway 11 between Kenaston and MacDowell.

Highway 10 Culvert Boring

Scope of work included installation of 22 smooth wall steel culverts along Highway 10, installation of rip rap and erosion control and protection. Two auger boring machines were used to install 30” culverts ahead of schedule.

SaskPower Edam Substation

Scope of work included topsoil removal, sub-base construction and compaction, gravel installation, fencing, concrete foundation and screwpiles. Project was completed on schedule and on budget in 2015, with an excellent rating from SaskPower’s Supplier Performance Management system
